12 hours to go and I finally get a summary of the HBP.  It just made me more excited if that is even possible.  Cortney will be coming with Syd and I to pick it up, so we should have a pretty fun time.  I even got off of work an hour early so I could make it to Eau Claire by 9 when the release party starts at Borders.

I went to Kayla's last night to watch a movie and see her one last time before we can't talk for a week partly because of Harry Potter and partly because she is having oral surgery that will prevent her from talking.  Poor kid.  Anyway, we watched In Good Company again.  That movie is still pretty frickin' hilarious.  I love Topher Grace.  Word has it he is the next Spiderman, he would make a good one.

I also borrowed Bend it Like Beckham from Kayla to watch Jonathan Rhys-Meyers again.  I had seen the movie before, but it was worth watching again.  I don't even like soccer and I liked that movie, and besides Jonny looks amazing, especially in that cricket outfit in the end.  He should wear all white more often, grrrrrrrrrrrr.  But during the airport scene at the end we put it on slow motion as he was running up to Jess, he flails his arms and legs when he runs, funniest thing ever.  Poor kid.

About a day and a half until HBP is in my hands for good.  I am surprisingly calm, but I won't deny that I am super excited.  To keep my mind off of the book I have been doing other things.  I tried calling friends to talk or do something, but most of them seem to be out of town, how inconceterate?  So besides working and going to Farm Tech Days (which were hot and boring) I have been watching a lot of movies.  I mentioned Vanity Fair in my last post, but I also watched Be Cool and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.  Both movies were crap.  Vince Vaughn was funny in Be Cool, but overall the movie was stupid, and Sky Captain was just plain idiotic even with four very good actors in it (Giovanni Ribisi, Jude Law, Angelina Jolie, Gwenyth Paltrow).  I was able to find like 10 continuity errors and the plot made no sense, I didn't even care if the characters lived or died, including Jude Law, which is pretty strange, I usually like him.

I watched Vanity Fair last night, utter crap.  I hated the movie, it was just too I don't know...bleck.  But one thing I did love about it: Jonathan Rhys Meyers!  Holy Yes is he amazing.  He dies in the movie, and as soon as he bit the big one I was ready to shut the movie off, because he was basically the only reason I was watching it.  He played a real jerk, but I don't really care, he still looked amazing and as usual did a wonderful job with the part.  The movie was set in the early 1800s but he still had punk rock hair, nice.

I haven't been this crazy about an actor since Josh Hartnett.  But this time, unlike my middle school obsession with Josh Hartnett, I am completely enthralled because of his talent, not just his looks.  Because unlike Josh, Jonathan actually has talent.  (Sorry Hartnett, but well...you suck).  I am super excited about seeing Velvet Goldmine again and even more excited to see some of his other movies as soon as Syd finishes up with 24 on Netflix.

In other news, well not really, it is still about Jonathan...he got nominated for an Emmy for that Elvis miniseries.  I am really super excited for the Emmys now, just another chance to see Jon!  How pathetic am I?  I don't really care, he is just great, I mean, look at him:

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is out in 3 days.  I for one can't wait.  A plus side of this waiting period has been a lot of Harry Potter press in the last few days which is exciting for me.  The time has been passing rather fast so that is encouraging.  And I know once I am done reading I will be sad that it is over because we only have one book left and a few crappy movies (the last one sucked so bad I have lost all hope for them).  So in honor of HBP I am posting my predictions.

These aren't spoilers, they are just predictions, or rather things I am hoping for.

My Predictions:
Dumbledore bites the dust.
Ron and Hermione hook up in this book BUT it won't last through the end of 7.
Draco plays a more important role AND we see a different side to him.
HBP= Aragog, or possibly Lupin
Ginny plays a bigger role in the plot and we see more of her Fred/Georgeesque awesomeness.
Minister of Magic = a new female character
Harry does really well on all of his OWLS, as does Hermione, Ron...not so well but good enough to get by.
Sirius isn't dead (I know this is a stretch, but I can dream, right?)
Harry and Hermione get closer, not romantically but platonically, save the romance for the next book Smile
Neville finds out he could have been the Boy Who Lived and gets really pissed at Harry.

And what the heck in a perfect world this is what would happen...

Harry and Hermione would confess their undieing devotion to each other and run away to Greece to make sweet love on the warm beaches.  Leaving Ron at Hogwarts to wallow/go insane and allie with Voldemort.

Draco would ditch his abusive father and hook up with Ginny Weasley.  Through Ginny he would find out about Ron's plan to destroy Harry because of jealousy.  Together Ginny and Draco would run off to Greece to warn Harry.  Draco and Harry would become semi-friends and partake in fun bantor that is just a little mean spirited and a lot hilarious.

Draco ends up killing Ron when Harry can't finish him off himself (they used to be friends after all). Harry gets pissed Draco killing Ron but in the end realizes it was for the best.

Sirius isn't dead, he is just living it up in Tuscan.
